We were called to help with five doodle type young dogs, three boys and two girls, that needed a safe space to land. These dogs were living out in the middle of nowhere on a piece of property and not receiving any medical care which included flea and tick meds and mom and dad were on property, but also not in the best physical shape. All five of the dogs seek out humans and our dogs and cat friendly. Right now they are decompressing and learning how to be a dog and live in a house. They are going to need some time to figure out what normal is as a pet. All of them were loaded with fleas and the water in our bathtubs was brown. Most of the dogs have hotspots or scabs on them, and none of them have been vetted.
We don’t know what their future medical holds until they see our veterinarians. We took these dogs on without knowing much about them other than they needed to be safe. One of the fosters, Alyssa, is experienced with dogs that are this scared. Fortunately, one of our new fosters is also a dog trainer for this area and she was happy to help us. Three other amazing families, including a recent adopter, said "challenge accepted, bring them to Peoria". Thank you to our transporters, Fosters, and our own families for helping us with these amazing pups. Welcome The Party of Five to the pack!
